Theatrical in Story and Experience

Domestic UK experiences have been rising steadily over the last decade, with hospitality brands creating destinations for locals and tourists alike. D'oyly's does exactly that with a history as rich as the flavours served. They tap into the growing trend of people buying experiences not products, drawing on the thespian history of the Island’s previous owners.

Hollywood on Thames

The visual identity was inspired by the rich history of the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company - from the eye catching yellow to the eclectic range of shapes that inform the signage system, responding to the scaffold architecture that was used in Victorian theatre performances. The custom typeface was inspired by an old Savoy Theatre programme attaining to Rupert D’Oyly Carte, Richard’s hotelier son. Similarly, the illustration pays homage to the character and charm of live theatre performances - bring it to life for new audiences.
